Straight answer

Why six cities and not fifty

I used to have twenty nine city pages on this site. They ranked for nothing. Each one was the same page with a different city name dropped into the headline, and Google treated them exactly the way that deserves: it indexed them and buried them around position sixty.

So I cut them down to six. These are the cities where I already have search visibility or a client result I can point to. Each page now says something specific about that market instead of repeating a template.

If your city is not on the list, that is not a reason to go elsewhere. It means I have not written a page about it yet. The work itself is the same in every city.

How it works

What a city engagement actually looks like

Month one is foundation. I audit your Google Business Profile against the categories and services your competitors in that city are actually using, fix the NAP inconsistencies across directories, and get schema onto your site so Google and AI engines can read your business data properly.

Month two is on-page and citations. Service pages get rewritten around the phrases people in your city actually search, not the ones a keyword tool guessed. Citations get built and cleaned on the directories that matter in your market.

Month three onward is content and authority. That means new pages targeting the services you want more of, review generation that does not break Google guidelines, and links from sources that are genuinely relevant to your trade and your area.

You get a written report every month that says what changed and what happens next. Not a dashboard screenshot.

Market difficulty

What makes one city harder than another

Three things decide how long a city takes, and population is not really one of them.

The first is category density. A city with forty plumbers fighting over the map pack is harder than a bigger city with twelve. What matters is how many businesses in your exact category are competing for the same three slots, not how many people live there.

The second is how much work your competitors have already done. In some markets the top three profiles are fully optimised with hundreds of recent reviews and clean citations. In others they are half-finished profiles that have simply been there longest. The second kind is where the fast wins are, and you cannot tell which you are in without looking.

The third is proximity spread. In a compact city like Philadelphia, being two blocks closer to the searcher can outweigh a better profile. In a sprawling metro the radius is wider and the profile quality matters more. This is why the same work produces different timelines in different places.

None of this is guesswork on my side. The free audit tells you which of the three you are dealing with before you spend anything.

The work itself

What local SEO actually involves, in order

Local ranking comes down to three signal groups, and they are not equally weighted. Relevance is what your profile and site say you do. Distance is where you are relative to the searcher. Prominence is how established you look across the web.

You cannot change distance. You can change relevance immediately and prominence over time, which is why the work runs in that order.

Relevance first: the primary category, secondary categories, the services listed on your profile with real descriptions, and pages on your site that match the phrases people actually type. This is the fastest-moving part and it is where most businesses are leaving the easiest gains untouched.

Prominence second: citation consistency across the directories Google cross-checks, reviews arriving steadily rather than in bursts, replies on those reviews, and links from sources relevant to your trade and area.

Everything else, including posts, photos and social activity, supports those two. Anyone selling you social media management as local SEO has the order wrong.

Getting started

What I need from you to begin

Access to your Google Business Profile, or the email address it is registered to. If you have lost access or it was set up by a previous agency, that recovery is usually the first job and I have done it enough times to know the route.

Your exact business name, address and phone number as you want them to appear everywhere. Not roughly. Exactly, including whether it is Street or St, because that inconsistency is what breaks citation matching.

A list of the services you want more of, and the ones you would rather stop getting calls about. Ranking for work you do not want is a common and expensive mistake.

That is it to start. The audit itself needs nothing from you at all, because everything in it is publicly visible. You get the written findings whether or not you decide to work with me.

Not listed?

I work with businesses anywhere in the USA and UK

Local SEO is not done by driving to your office. It is done inside your Google Business Profile, across directory listings, and on your website. All of that is remote work, which is why a specialist in Dubai can rank a roofing company in California.

That is not hypothetical. Marco runs a roofing company in San Jose. His profile was at forty two percent completion with inconsistent listings across twenty three directories. Eleven weeks after we fixed the foundation, he was in the map pack. The full breakdown is on the case studies page.

What matters is whether I understand your market, not whether I live in it. If you want to know what is holding your rankings back in your city, the audit is free and you get written findings either way.
